Make your own brushes in this 3-hour workshop!
David Gamble has been making brushes with workshop participants for decades using it to start his classes at Penland – Arrowmont – and other teaching facilities around the country.
You will be using Squirrel and Deer Tails for the brush hairs and cutting/drilling pieces of bamboo to create the handles.
Brushes are such an important and essential tool in glazing and painting on ceramics as well as other mediums.
Gamble has four decades of balancing art and business in the ceramic industry. He has developed products, written articles, designed and conducted marketing campaigns, while continuously making clay art and teaching.
He has conducted hundreds of workshops in the United States and Canada and has helped organize and participated in five clay symposiums in Eastern Europe.
His more recent workshops were in Finland, Alaska, Watershed and many at Arrowmont and Penland. His artwork has been seen in gallery shows, exhibitions and numerous publications.
